Accomplishments

Hermanns Contracting purchased its first blower truck in 2002 and became a pioneer in the Ontario market by introducing the innovative method of Terraseeding™. By 2006, Hermanns established itself as the largest blower truck company in Ontario, commanding a fleet of 7 units. To date, Hermanns has Terraseeded™ over a million square metres of new turf and green space.

In 2005, Hermanns Contracting constructed the largest soccer park in the GTA. The 100 acre sports complex situated in the City of Brampton consists of 14 soccer fields, 2 cricket pitches, parking and pathways. The new turf was created using a combination of Terraseeding™ and sod installations. Today, City of Brampton residents continue to enjoy the amenities of this lush and thriving park.

In 2008, Hermanns Contracting accepted the challenge to install green roof media, requiring an unprecedented 700 feet of hose to reach the 2nd storey roof of the Ontario Science Center. Hermanns was the first company to push the blower truck technology beyond published limits.

The Guelph Civic Center is one of Ontario's largest municipal green roof projects. In August 2008, Hermanns Contracting was selected to install their green roof soil using blower trucks for Nedlaw Living Roofs. Challenged with a stringent project schedule, Hermanns achieved the installation in one and a half days. The project area measured 19,000 square feet.
